Red River" (Honghe Yejin), composed by Zheng Qingrong in the 1980s based on a folk melody of Yi people in Yunnan Province, China. This is a concert live recording during a tour in Frnace in 2005.
The piece called "LERNEA HYDRA" has been composed by Spiro Cardamis & was performed by the group SPIRO CARDAMIS & DREAMBAND in Manhattan june 8 2004 at the SATALLA nite club.The video was shot by Omar Faruke.Chris Papadopoulos sings the song & is playing a tiny bouzouki called baglamas. The concert was given in celebration of the Hellenic Spirit (Olympic games 2004)." TLERNEA HYDRA " was inspired by a poem written by Greek American poet Dino Makropoulos.In 1997 Spiro & Dino met & this is one of the poems Spiro set music to. "LERNEA HYDRA" is slow 9/8 zeibekiko...probably the most popular greek dance nowadays...The song speaks about the longing for the return to one's homeland and the feelings of fear associated with the realization of this dream.
